Rifugio Tissi

Elevation

2250m

Capacity

69 People

Season

From June to September

At 2,250 meters, Rifugio Attilio Tissi stands on a panoramic ridge directly beneath the imposing north-western wall of Monte Civetta, famed as the “Wall of Walls”

The hut was first built in the 1920s and later dedicated to the Venetian alpinist Attilio Tissi, one of the great pioneers of Dolomite climbing. Ever since, it has served as a welcoming base for mountaineers tackling Civetta’s vertical faces and as an important stop along the Alta Via 1.

From its terrace, the view stretches wide—from the gleaming Marmolada glacier to the distant Pale di San Martino—and at sunset the cliffs of Civetta blaze with the fiery hues of the Enrosadira.

Inside, the refuge still carries the charm of genuine mountain tradition. The dormitory-style rooms offer straightforward, comfortable rest, while the warm welcome and convivial atmosphere make each visit memorable.

Whether as a stopover on the long trek of the Alta Via 1 or as a base for tackling great climbs, Rifugio Tissi remains one of the Dolomites’ most iconic huts.
