Set in a dramatic position just above Lago Coldai, at the foot of the immense northwestern wall of Monte Civetta, often called the Queen of the Dolomites.
The hut was built in 1905 by the Venetian Section of the CAI (Italian Alpine Club) and later dedicated to Adolfo Sonino, a passionate alpinist and supporter of Dolomite exploration.
Over the years it has been renovated and modernized, but it has preserved the charm of a true mountain refuge, a place where history and mountaineering tradition are still alive. Today the hut offers simple but comfortable accommodation and hearty cuisine rooted in local alpine flavors.
